Statement of Faith
Our practice is informed by this statement of faith, which guides our beliefs and actions. We strive to uphold these principles in all that we do.
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God written in 66 books of the Old and New Testament. It has stood the test of time, proving to be absolute truth - the unique and authoritative revelation of God to man.
2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5
God
God is the one true God, eternally existing in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of these persons possesses equally all the attributes of the Godhead and His characteristics of personality.
1 Timothy 2:5, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19
Jesus
Jesus is the Christ and is God. He became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and his virgin birth. He is both perfect deity and perfect humanity blended in one person forever. He lived sinlessly, and He voluntarily died on the cross for the sins of all people, as their substitute. He was resurrected on the third day after his crucifixion in bodily form and ascended into heaven to serve as our High Priest before God’s throne.
John 1:1, 14, Matthew 1:18, Hebrews 4:15, John 10:18, I John 2:2, mark 16:6, Acts 1:9, Hebrews 6:20
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God and has come to reveal and glorify the beauty of Christ, to convict and draw sinful people to Christ, to regenerate, baptize, indwell, and seal believers into the Body of Christ, to impart gifts to believers, and to live through them in daily life.
Acts 5:3-4, John 16:14, John 16:8, Titus 3:5, Mark 1:8, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 1:13, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, Galatians 5:16-24
Men & Women
Men and women were created in the image of God and were given a created capacity for goodness; yet the first man and woman sinned, bringing spiritual death to all people. We believe that as a result of Adam’s sin, all people are condemned and are in need of Christ’s offer of salvation.
Genesis 1:27, Romans 5:18-19, Romans 6:23
Marriage
Marriage is the permanent, exclusive, comprehensive, covenant, and conjugal “one flesh” union of one man and one woman, intrinsically ordered to procreation and biological family, and in furtherance of the moral, spiritual, and public good of binding father, mother, and child.
Genesis 1:27-28, Genesis 2:18-24, Matthew 19:4-9, Mark 10:5-9, Ephesians 5:31-33
Salvation
Salvation is the free gift of God through Jesus Christ, our Lord. God saves anyone who will put their trust in Christ alone, who imputes His righteousness into them and keeps them eternally secure.
John 3:14-15, 2 Corinthians 5:21, John 10:28
The Christian Life
The Christian life is a call to living a holy life through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit and a mirroring of the life of Christ.
Galatians 1:6, 5:16
The Church
The Church is composed of everyone who has placed faith in Christ. While baptism by immersion is not a necessary step for salvation, it is a voluntary response to salvation as a symbolic identification with the burial and resurrection of Christ. All believers are called to assemble regularly in local churches for worship and to express adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and praise to God, for mutual encouragement and brotherly love, discipleship, and for carrying out God’s purpose in this world.
Colossians 1:18, 1 Corinthians 12:12-13, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:3-5, Hebrews 12:28, Acts 2:41, 1 Corinthians 11:23-24, Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 18:15-17, Ephesians 3:10-11
The Future
The Future is an everlasting and conscious celebration among those who are believers in Christ, and the everlasting and conscious peril among those who are not believers in Christ. Christ is on a schedule for an imminent, personal, and demonstrable Return to inaugurate His Kingdom in which He will reign.
1 Thessalonians 4:17, revelation 20:12-15, Acts 1:11, Luke 1:32-33
Christian Counseling
Christian counseling is conducted by men and women who are believers in Christ and who have been called, gifted, and trained for the profession of counseling. We submit ourselves and our counsel to the authority of Christ and the Holy Spirit, who is “the wonderful counselor,” and to His church. We strive to radiate the joy of living a Christ-centered life through a dependence on God in prayer and an on-going study of His Unique Word as we seek to glorify and honor His name, having been entrusted with grace.
John 3:16, Romans 11:29, 2 Timothy 2:15, Isaiah 9:6, 1 Timothy 2:1-8, 1 Timothy 6:20-21
