A.J. Molina, LPC
Director
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from LeTourneau University. I am also a Certified Life Coach certified in BrainSpotting (BSP), a SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) Facilitator and was awarded the Dale Carnegie Highest Achievement Award. I am a member of the Christian Counselors of Texas.
I worked in the business world for 30 years and answered a call to change professions to professional counseling. This background has given me an ability to help business professionals, couples, families, and individuals tackle the challenges of life. I also have a passion for helping men deal with “father issues” that so many men have but hide. And I love helping young men on the path to manhood. I have experience working with adolescents, blended families, couples (both premarital and marital). I look forward to walking with you on your journey.
Have you tried to fix your issues and it didn’t work; things are the same? That’s because some issues in life can’t be fixed with willpower and a self-help book. You need a trained Christian counselor to come alongside you and help you find the core issue and address it so that you can get the freedom and life-change that you are seeking. If you are struggling with emotional, physical, sexual trauma or stroke, or if you are preparing for or recovering from surgery, you need help to reduce the stress surrounding that. If you have addictive cravings, attention issues, stress, anxiety, phobias, and anger, it is possible to release the stress of these things that overwhelm your nervous system so you can find the calm you need.

I am certified in a groundbreaking therapy called Brainspotting (BSP) that finding the eye position where the emotion is most strongly felt and then by using accompanying bilateral sounds, calm the sympathetic nervous system and engage the calmer parasympathetic nervous system. BSP is effective with trauma, traumatic brain injury, preparation, or recovery from surgery, reducing attention issues, stress, anxiety, phobias, and addictive cravings. It is also effective for enhancing creativity and performance.

If so, you have probably tried to conquer it yourself. You may have been told to “buck up” or “get it together.” But try as you might, you can’t. Of course, you can’t. That would like telling someone with a broken leg to “walk it off.” You need help. You need an understanding, empathetic, trained Christian counselor to come alongside you and help you face your issue, root out the cause, and chart a new path. When you do, the good news is, there is hope and there is healing. Choosing to go to counseling is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of great courage and strength.

I am passionate about working with individuals like you who struggle with life adjustments, sexual trauma, eating disorders, grief, low self-esteem, childhood trauma, and family conflict. In my experience of working with individuals who experienced abuse, hope seems lost in the darkness of defeat. As a therapist, I love to hold the hope you cannot see, and help you to create a masterpiece out of what seems to look like a disaster. My focus is on establishing a foundation of trust and rapport to make sure you feel seen and heard. I am passionate about normalizing counseling; it’s okay to not be okay. I would love to see you in our counseling center.

The good news is that you have an inherent ability to make the necessary changes that support a healthy lifestyle. There are solutions and techniques that can resolve conflict, reconcile families, and repair relationships. Young people can learn to make good choices and enhance their ability to achieve life-long success. With hope, healing, regaining mental and emotional balance, and biblical wisdom, you can engage and enhance your inner strengths to develop the learned behaviors and skills that are fundamental to a meaningful and productive life.

I understand that overcoming challenges takes commitment and that recovery is a process, but I am passionately committed to the practice of providing hope and encouragement to empower you to make changes for a more positive life. As a solution-based, client-focused marriage and family counselor, I enjoy teaching techniques in premarital and marriage conflict resolution. I believe that, with professional assistance and God’s grace, healing, reconciliation, and solutions to your problems can be achieved. I work with individuals, couples, adolescents, college students, and families. I would love to see you in person in our counseling center or online through telehealth.

Supervised by Sharon Good, LPC-S
I am a Biblical Counselor with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. I am under the supervision of Sharon Good, MA, LPC Supervisor. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Dallas Baptist University and a Teaching Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington. I am a certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator and have 14 years of experience as an Ordained Pastor, helping people navigate emotional and spiritual wounds.
I believe that each person is created uniquely and for a specific purpose. It is up to us to figure out what that purpose is. However, along the way, we will face many challenges that will test our resolve. For instance, health issues, job loss, broken marriages, loss of a child, or any other form of trauma can all contribute to the formation of dysfunctional behavior and beliefs. These strongholds can take over our lives and lead to negative patterns in our relationships and decision-making. Nevertheless, it is my belief that humans have the capability to break free from these negative patterns with the right guidance.

As a counselor, I am passionate about helping teenagers, adults, couples, and families who are facing seemingly impossible challenges. I specialize in addressing a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, marital problems, pre-marital counseling, blended family issues, and grief and loss. Regardless of the challenge you are facing, I believe that everyone has the ability to overcome life's obstacles. My top priority is to create a safe and respectful environment where we can explore sensitive issues together. We will work collaboratively to create a treatment plan that is tailored to your unique needs. I will help you set realistic goals and develop effective coping strategies. It would be my honor and privilege to work with you to help you find freedom and healing.
